Entry requirements: Domestic Cats and Dogs from within the EU may now be brought to Great Britain
without going into quarantine (PETS scheme). This arrangement also includes certain other non-EU
islands that are recognised as rabies free. Entry must be via one of the methods given below, animals
must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies at least seven months prior to travel with subsequent
blood test and a rabies vaccination certificate issued. Additional regulations exist for the control of Tape

scheme remain subject to quarantine.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: (provided by the Austrian embassy, London)
A maximum of three cats or dogs allowed per person ( the only exception being mother animals
with puppies or kittens). They must have been vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days (in the case
of a first vaccination) and not more than 12 months prior to entry. A veterinary certificate issued in the
country of origin must be presented at the border. The certificate should be either in German or have
a certified translation attached to it. It should contain the following information:-
1) name and address of owner 2) description of animal( breed, age, sex, colour, identification markings)
3) exact rabies vaccination date 4) registered trade mark of officially approved serum 5) name of the
serum.
EXEMPTIONS : Dogs working for the authorities; dogs working on rescue operations; puppies and
kittens under 12 weeks old
ADDITIONAL INFO : A muzzle and leash should accompany dogs.
